Michael Makhal

Michael Makhal who hails from Kolkata is now a known musician (Violinist) in the Telugu Film Industry. He is a rising music director / composer.

Michael Makhal did his licentiate eight years course on Western Classical Music from ABRSM (World’s leading authority on musical assessment - London) in music composing and violin performance with distinction and was a topper in Kolkata. Parallelly, he also learnt Eastern Classical and Contemporary Music from his father, Ananta Makhal - who for the past fifty years has been an accomplished and acclaimed musician in European Classical Music in Kolkata.

Michael is also a senior teacher in music and continues to tour both abroad and within the country performing in various well known symphony orchestras, including Neemrana Foundation and the Delhi Symphony Orchestra. He was recently a member of the Delhi Symphony Orchestra and represented India in a concert performed in Tokyo’s prestigious Opera City Hall, during the world famous Western Classical Music event - ‘Asia Orchestra Week’.

In International concerts, Michael has had the privilege to work with world famous musicians like ‘Maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura’, ‘Maestro Hikotaro Yazaki’, ‘Tatsunobu Goto’, ‘Dr. Paul Carlson’, ‘Frederic Ligier’, ‘Frederic Poilvet’, ‘Ms. Aude Priya Wacziarg’, ‘Jasmin Martorell’, ‘Philippe Desandre’ and ‘Jean-noel Cabrol’. And now, he is coming up with his own Symphony Orchestra in Hyderabad, India.

Since 2002, Michael Makhal has been a loyal and dedicated musician associated with the Andhra Pradesh Film Industry. He has also earlier worked in the Bengali Film Industry for more than three years. In Hyderabad, Michael has been working with ace music directors like M.M. Keeravani, Koti , R.P.Patnaik, Chakri, Devisri Prasad, Mani Sharma, etc., and famous musicians like Mandolin ‘Srinivas’ , Flutist ‘Nagaraju’, Dr. Moorthy, etc.

Makhal’s early years in Hyderabad were of struggle as he attempted to impress his seniors in the music industry of his credentials. His inherent musical talent however, spoke for him and he was allowed a foothold to share the success of his colleagues and continued working for all the leading music directors of Telugu Film Industry. Michael also credits his success to the fact that he can converse in Telugu language comfortably.

' With Pt. Gautam Kaul (G.S. Delhi Symphony Orchestra)'

Till date Michael Makhal has worked in more than fifty Telugu films, as a Violinist. He has now begun working independently as a Music Director / Composer in the Telugu Film Industry. He has successfully completed his first independent project "My Heart is Beating...Adola", where he composed six songs. The audio has been released on Jan 31st 2012 and received tremendous applause. Currently, he is working on few new assignments including a commercial Telugu feature film and an animation series/film with RVML.

Worked with legendary film maker Muzaffar Ali along with eminent musicians and opera singers from France and India.

' He loves to win'

Receiving prestigious award for obtaining first position in his higher grade music examination from Royal College of London.
